Have you considered how many cups of tea, coffee or cans of coke you are consuming each day and the effects this will have on your body and mind? If not, I invite you to do this now and think about cutting back or better still, take it out of your diet altogether.
Caffeine is a stimulant that affects the central nervous system, and while it can provide short-term benefits like improved alertness and concentration, excessive intake can cause anxiety, jitteriness, nervousness and will increase your heart rate and blood pressure significantly.
Caffeine will disrupted sleep patterns too regardless of what time of day you consume it. Caffeine is known to interfere with the ability to fall asleep and stay asleep. People who consume caffeine during the day may find themselves tossing and turning at night, leading to insomnia or poor sleep quality. Chronic sleep deprivation can, in turn, affect cognitive function, mood, and overall health.
Drinking regular tea, coffee and or cola can also have negative effects on your stomach and bowels. Caffeine stimulates acid production in the stomach, which may worsen conditions like gastritis or lead to discomfort such as heartburn. Additionally, too much caffeine can act as a diuretic as well as a laxative, increasing the frequency of visiting the bathroom for both a number 1 and number 2!
If any of the above symptoms are relatable and having thought about your daily consumption, it is higher then 1 or 2 cups then please consider cutting back for the sake of your good health. There are plently of very nice de-caffeinated options now available to us and not to mention are very own mother nature water which is in fact, the only fluid our body ever really wants.
